88: Walking Stick Stout

Picked this up at the brewery in Stevenson a few weeks ago, along with a seasonal, Pale Strider. Like it’s friend, this was surprisingly still fresh, even though it had been all but forgotten in the downstairs fridge. I’ve never done anything but fill growlers at Walking Man, but this beer reminds me – I really need to spend an afternoon there at some point. I hear the food’s pretty good, too, and you can’t beat the scenery in the Gorge.

Notes: Very smooth and sweet. First time I can say I’ve picked up tobacco and old leather. Milk chocolate on the initial taste, with dark chocolate finish and slight lingering bitter.
