And our northern California adventure concluded with a trip in a town probably better known for its high density of wine tasting rooms, Healdsburg. Thankfully for me, Healdsburg is also a town known for being the home of Bear Republic brewing, a personal favorite of mine (love, love, love the Racer X and its lesser-known cousin, Apex). I visited the brew pub in February 2009, on my 30th birthday beer trip, and recalled not much more of this brewpub than its exceptionally large taster tray (something like 20 samples are included), which was quickly dwarfed by the veritable beer buffet tray provided at Moylan’s. But I digress. The restaurant itself is perhaps overdue for a remodel, but there’s always something interesting on tap, and you could do far worse than their sun-soaked back patio.
