I had such high hopes for this beer. I loved the Imperial Pils they did a few years ago, but honestly – this is nothing like that. It’s so light on flavor … my tongue is bored. I think I will open a non-counting Sierra Nevada Celebration to liven up my taste buds.

Beer Name: Noble Pils
Brewer: Sam Adams
Price: $1.79
Sampled: February 8, 2010
Rating: 1/5
Notes: “Ale in Tx?” Wha? Thought this was a Pils! Tastes like Miller Light if it had some hops. Disappointingly blech, despite cool glass.
ABV: N/A
IBU: N/A
OG N/A
TG N/A
Serving Type: Bottle.
Not my experience. I found Samuel Adams’ Noble Pils to be a very respectable German style pilsner.
I enjoyed numerous 6ers of it while wintering in SW Fla.
Beeradvocate consensus of 839 rating is B+, very good.

Jack – I think if I’ve learned one thing in this project, it’s that taste and preference are highly individual. I’ll be the first to admit that my own tastes gravitate towards high-IBU IPAs and big, barrel-aged things. Pils is a style that is typically lost on me, and clearly, our opinions differ on this particular beer!
