Superbowl! Had a great time this afternoon with friends watching the Saints win. One of my best friends has been a diehard Saints fan for 30 years, and I thought I’d try finding a tasty New Orleans brew to root the team on. Alas, Belmont Station had been cleaned out of both Dixie (not brewed in Louisiana since Katrina) and Abita. Instead, I selected a new Portland beer that just sounded tasty. This beer was also subject to a bit of tragedy – a large quantity of the batch was dumped out after a freak power outage in Portland a few weeks before its release. A real shame, given the tastiness of this brew. Some lucky fish, though. But there’s no one luckier than Saints fans today.
