I had this at Holiday Ale Fest in December 2009, along with the Jim 2008 and Jim 2007. As I recall, the 2008 was my favorite, with more distinction between the flavors than the 2007, but very little of the alcohol burn or hop bite of the 2009.
It was fun to taste it again 9 months later (although I wish I had the book from the festival so I could compare … the dog literally ate that one), when this beer smoothed out a bit. It’s a very rare beer, blended just for the festival, so the only place you’ll likely see it is at the fest, or at the newly-opened Hair of the Dog tasting room in Industrial Southeast Portland.
Oh, and the backdrop you see? It’s the wholesale pricing sheet I had printed up for GABF. You knew we had wholesale pricing, right? If you’d like to retail 33 Beers in your store, hit me up: dave (at) 33 beers (dot) com for more information.
