Most times I choose the beer I’m going to drink for the day by style. Increasingly, it’s something I pair with dinner. For no. 249, I went with IPA + spicy food, a tried and true combination.
But some days, it’s something more symbolic. The night I sampled this beer, I was heavy into wrapping up GABF preparation, getting the booth ready for the Mile High City. So there was a Colorado connection. But there was (and maybe is) a more literal divide happening with 33 Beers. I hope to tell you more about that in the coming weeks, but I will say this much now: it’s not always enough to be a nice guy with a good idea. The world can be a little “dog eat dog,” whether you like it or not.
It’s somewhat of an unfortunate realization 25% of the way through this blogging project, and less than a year into the 33 Beers business.
But there are lots more good things than bad so far. As they say, “into each life a little rain must fall.” Fortunately, sometimes that rain is beer … there’s a GABF recap post coming up.
