I have pretty high standards when it comes to barleywine. North Coast’s Old Stock Ale is a favorite, and the local brewery’s Doggie Claws isn’t too bad, either. Which is why I gave this beer only three stars. With every sip, I was pretty much longing for an Old Stock, and this just need a little more oomph. Still, a bad barleywine doesn’t exist, as far as I know. Very pleasant.
