Oregon Craft Beer Month

I’ll be the first to admit I’m a “big flavor” guy. I like my coffee really roasty and I take it black. I like hoppy IPAs and I like big, barrel-aged stouts. I like really funky cheese, and I love a double-smoked bacon.

But I do have taste buds, and I dare say I’m developing a bit of a palate, thanks to this project. Hell, I ID’d “cat piss” as a flavor yesterday. But damned if I pick up much in this beer. I’m not 100% sure I could tell the difference between it and Bud (maybe even seltzer water) in a blindfolded tasting. Bud might have more hops!

Walkabout is one of our local breweries down here, and though they are notoriously inconsistent, I would still recommend looking for this beer or perhaps their Sasquatch strong ale on tap in Southern Oregon. It’s typically far better than a 1 star beer.
