Twice each year, I show up to Hair of the Dog Brewing, and wait in line for two or three hours for the privilege of getting first crack at whatever wild beer has been cooked up for release. Sometimes it’s Adambier aged with cherries in oak barrels. Sometimes a brand new beer. There’s always a big line and a lot of excitement, but it’s easy to overlook brewer Alan Sprints’ stellar, regular lineup, of which Doggie Claws has been a part since at least 2001. A very solid barleywine with crazy flavors. You must try this beer.
