It’s tempting to make a bullfighting metaphor when talking about this beer. I mean, I was at a darts championship (reminiscent of a matador’s javelins), and the word “torero” is a synonym for matador. It doesn’t get much more obvious than that. I could take it further – Alameda in my book has always been the bull, not the fighter. This beer is their offensive, their return to grace – an excellent, well-balanced but pleasantly hoppy IPA, even when served too cold from the lines of a somewhat careless beer venue. And of course, I’d have to end with a glib, ironic “¡Ole!”
Of course, the name could also be a reference to the luchador, too.

Notes: Very nice! Haven’t had an Alameda for awhile, but even in a too cold icy glass (A&L) temps, hop aroma and flavors are bright and crisp. Like the toasty bite.
